Questions about MizuCue.

Clear answers about what MizuCue checks, what History means, how privacy works, and what to expect from the iPhone beta.

Product basics

What is MizuCue?

MizuCue is an iPhone connection monitor. It shows live connection health and keeps measured History so you can inspect when something changed.

What does MizuCue check?

MizuCue checks this iPhone, the Wi-Fi router when it is directly visible, and selected internet destinations. Each result describes what responded from this iPhone.

Does MizuCue tell me the exact cause of an outage?

No. MizuCue helps narrow the affected part of the connection, but one iPhone cannot confirm that a router, internet provider, DNS provider, or website caused the problem.

Does MizuCue keep monitoring in the background?

MizuCue checks while iOS allows the app to run. iOS can suspend an app after it is closed or moved to the background, and MizuCue shows those unmeasured periods as gray gaps instead of calling them outages.

What does Not checked mean?

MizuCue did not record that particular check. This can happen because the app could not run, permission was unavailable, or a network did not expose a direct router check.

History and connection events

What is saved in History?

History can include recorded check times, response times, interruptions, coverage gaps, and connection events. It describes measurements from this iPhone, not every device on the network.

What do gray sections in History mean?

Gray means no check was recorded during that period. A gray section is missing coverage, not evidence that the connection was offline.

What creates a connection event?

MizuCue records an event when observed router or internet trouble continues past the configured threshold. A Wi-Fi disconnect is recorded immediately.

Can I change Detection sensitivity?

Yes. Settings lets you choose how long router or internet trouble must continue before an event is recorded.

How much History can I view for free?

Live Status and the most recent hour of History are free. The annual subscription unlocks retained History and reports covering up to one year, including older connection events and PDF export with optional CSV.

What happens to retained History if I cancel?

Canceling does not delete History. After paid access ends, longer ranges lock and the most recent hour remains available, while retained measurements continue to follow the rolling storage limit.

Privacy and backup

Do I need a MizuCue account?

No account is required for connection measurements or History. The beta request form stores only the email and consent record needed to manage that request.

Read the Privacy Policy
Does MizuCue upload my connection measurements?

MizuCue does not operate an account database containing your measurement History. Internet checks contact the destinations you select, but stored History stays on the iPhone unless you enable backup to your own iCloud Drive.

How does optional iCloud backup work?

When you enable backup, MizuCue writes compressed backup files to its Documents area in your own iCloud Drive. The developer cannot access your Apple Account or those backup files.

Does deleting local History delete my iCloud backup?

No. Deleting History on the iPhone does not automatically remove an existing backup, so you can manage backup files separately through Apple’s Files app.

How do I erase my data?

Use Delete history in MizuCue Settings and clear connection events separately from the History tab. Existing iCloud backup files must be removed separately if you no longer want them.

Availability and beta

Which iPhones and iOS versions are supported?

The current beta is for iPhone and requires iOS 18 or later. MizuCue for macOS is in development and has no announced release date.

Which languages are available in the app?

The iPhone app supports English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese. Beta support and the current website education pages are primarily in English.

How do I request beta access?

Submit the email you want used for a TestFlight invitation through the request form. Capacity is limited, so a request does not guarantee an invitation.

Will a TestFlight purchase charge me?

No. Purchases made from a TestFlight build use Apple’s sandbox environment and do not create a real charge.

Is the Mac version available?

Not yet. MizuCue for macOS is in development, but it is not included in the current iPhone beta and no release date has been announced.
